Corian Care

Caring for your Corian worktop

Corian® is a remarkably durable surface and can remain looking brand new for many years. Just follow these simple steps ...

Everyday cleaning

Corian® is non porous and liquids cannot soak in, so just wipe off any spills as they happen. Clean with a damp cloth or a mild abrasive cream in a circular motion.

Once or twice a week

Remove all the fat and oil residues of normal food preparation from the sink, using a detergent or a hard-surface cleaner. Use a spray with 3/4 of liquid household bleach and 1/4 water to spray the sink and leave a few hours or overnight. The exposure time should be limited to 16hrs. In the morning, rinse or clean with a damp cloth. The sink should then be beautifully clean, with very little effort.

Watch for ...

Heat - can damage any surface, and Corian® is a synthetic material so always insulate from hot pans and plates.
Scratches - like all materials Corian® can develop slight abrasion marks. Minimise this by always using a chopping board.
Chemicals - Strong chemicals (EG paint stripper) can damage your worktop, so in the event of an accidental spill, rinse it promptly with plenty of soapy water.

But even if the worst happens ...

Corian® is inherently renewable because it is solid and homogeneous all the way through. Most damage, including severe impact, heat or chemical damage, can usually be repaired on site to restore the original, smooth, hygienic surface.
